1. The Apple Developer account is mandatory to create your iOS native app

The Apple Developer account is necessary to generate and test your iOS native app, and later on to submit it to the App Store via your iTunes Connect account.

No matter if you do the submission process yourself or subscribe to the Apollo Apps takes care service for the publication of your iOS app, you still need to get your own Apple Developer account.

The Apple Developer Program costs $99 per membership year. The same Apple Developer account can be used to publish more than one application.

2. Visit the Apple developer portal

Go to this address https://developer.apple.com/programs/

Click to the button "Enroll" at the top right of the screen, and then choose to enroll as an individual or as an organization.

  • Enrolling as an individual. This one suits a personal project just fine.

Attention! Your personal name will appear in the "Seller" field under the app name on the App Store.

  • Enrolling as an organization. If you are a company / business, it is recommended to use this account.

The name of your company will appear in the App Store instead of yours.

Then click on "Start your Enrollment".

3. Create your Apple ID

In this online help, we will illustrate the process of creating an "Individual" Apple Developer account.
In this case, the verification of your identity will be done through your credit card, and the creation will be pretty simple and quick.

If you create an Organization Apple Developer account, the process is a little more complex as Apple requires extra documents to verify your identity, and may also take more time to validate the creation of the account.

When creating a new Apple Developer account, we recommend you to create a specific Apple ID, meaning not to use an existing one.

Once the Apple ID has been created, you will receive a verification email to validate it.
Copy the code received and continue.

You will be asked to log in again, so use the email and password of the Apple ID you have just created.

4. Select the type of Developer Account

Once logged in, choose the type of Developer Account:
- Individual
- Company
- Government organization

Then hit Continue.

Accept the terms and conditions of the Apple Developer Program, then hit Continue.

5. Fill in your contact information

In the next step, you have to fill in your contact information.

Your phone number must be entered in U.S. format.
For example, for the French number, you would have to write: 33 - 972143065

On the next screen you will be able to verify your Apple ID information, then to complete your purchase.

Apple also gives you the option to renew your membership automatically. The choice is up to you here.

When you are done, click Purchase.

6. Complete the payment on the Apple Online Store

You will be asked to log in again with the same Apple ID, then to review the order and complete your billing information (register your name and first name as they appear on the registered credit card) then click on Continue.

7. Confirmation of the registration

You will receive an email from Apple to confirm your order, then it will take up to 24 hours before your account is valid.
In the meantime you will receive other emails to inform you of the evolution of the process on Apple's end.

When you receive the last email entitled "Welcome to iTunes Connect!", you are done.
